Smoking cessation
What helps whom, compared with what?
The cessation evidence question is structured around sustained smoking cessation and comparator discipline. Candidate studies are not automatically synthesis-ready.
Why the gate matters
Population
Smoking history, dual use and participant characteristics need source-grounded extraction.
Comparator
Nicotine replacement therapy, behavioural support, non-nicotine controls and other comparators cannot be collapsed into one category.
Outcome
Sustained abstinence, point prevalence and self-reported outcomes are not interchangeable.
Current synthesis status: awaiting structured outcome extraction and review. No pooled cessation effect is being presented.
